problem with a buyer
Permalink Closed

ok, i decided to sell my 7 skirt on ebay.  the person who bought the skirt from me asked me before she bought the skirt for the style and cut to be able to make sure the skirt was authentic.  so i sent her the #'s straight off of the tags, and assured her it was authentic and she was sattisfied enough with that to buy the skirt.  she just got the skirt today, and has sent me an email saying that she knows for a fact that it is not authentic.  how can she do this when it is authentic?  i don't know what to do in this sittuation.  i even comped her shipping charges.  i feel like maybe she just doesn't like it in person and it trying to get me to take it back.  i don't know what to do since this is only the second item i have ever sold on ebay.  i don't want to get a negative feedback since i only have a positive 25 and i am currently at 100% positive, but i allready spent the money she paid for the skirt since i don't take returns and i know the skirt is real.  i don't know what to do.

How does she know that the skirt is a fake, did she give you any proof? For all you know, she could be talking out of her ass. Where did you get it?

i bought the skirt from nicoley and she got it from nordstroms.  it still had the tags on it and everything.  this is the email she sent:

"Hi ,

I got the skirt today and I assert, that it is not authentic Seven for all Mankind.

The number under the silver stripe is not original, I know how it does look.

I am very disappointed and I would like to send back the skirt to you.

Will you refund please"

these are the pics of the skirt that were on the listing.  i believe 100% that she is trying to pull something or that she is just stupid or something.  i don't know.  but i also don't know how to protect myself in this sittuation.

I think she is BSing you. I would ask her to prove that the skirt is a fake.

Can you get the original receipt from Nicole and prove to her that it was purchased at a reputable store?

I would not refund her money under any circumstances. She def. trying to con you!

i absolutely think the same thing.  i sent nicole a pm to see if she still has the original reciept and if she does to send it to me.  i allready sent her an email saying that i know for a fact that it is real and that i won't be refunding her money, and i posted a thread on the sellers forum and they told me that i can have her go through paypal, but she will have to have it authenticated and if she finds someone to say that it is not real, then she will sen it back to me, but if the tags are not in tact, then i do not have to take the refund and paypal won't either.

ok, i just sent the woman an email saying that i was contacting nicole to get the original reciept and that if she would like she can make a claim with paypal and have the skirt authenticated and i will produce the reciept and do it that way and she sent me an email back not even 5 minutes later saying that it was not neccesary, she believes me and that she wouldn't bother me about it again.  WHAT A CROCK!!!!! she wasn't going to get away with it so she backed down.  i am so mad.  i could just spit or something.

I am totally paranoid about selling shit on eBay from all these stories i've been hearing. It seems like the second a buyer screams wolf paypal comes running to their aid. It is HIGHLY annoying.

I just sold my Bebe kimono dress and I'm freaked the seller is going to have some problem with it or something.

I am mad for you but I am proud you stuck to your guns and challenged her!

Yep, it probably didn't fit her right or she decided she really didn't need it and was trying to scam a return on you.  The fight wasn't worth the trouble so she backed down.

Same here. Well, at least those dishonest people can really only do it once or else Paypal would become suspicious.
