I'm going to Universal Studios & to the beach the second week of August. How hot does it get over there? I know Houston gets hot, but does LA get even hotter? I'm trying to figure out what to wear. TIA.

NORMALLY, LA would probably be in the mid-high 80s and mid 70's at the beaches, but the heat is a dry heat. Due to global warming () it's been hitting 100+ by Universal City and 80-90 at the beaches lately. There's still very little humidity, but that doesn't matter since there are so many whining natives.


Dress light, but whatever you wear during the summer in Houston should work just as well, if not better, in LA.

oh I'm so jealous of you claudia!!!  I wanted to go to LA so badly in Sept but the cost was too high when I was making my plans.  Oh well maybe next year.  Anyways I went in August 4 years ago and it was really nice and pleasant.  Much more so that Houston right now.  I wore capris and short sleeves the whole time but I did have a jacket for at night when the temp dipped down.  But... with the heat wave none of my past trip may help you any.
