I'm thinking about buying this dress:

http://www.shopbop.com/shop/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441778115&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302029963&fm=sale&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474395181057&bmUID=1153785357465

(I'm sorry, I can't seem to get the image to copy using my Mac!)

Two questions for all of you stylish ladies:

1. I don't think that I can wear skinny jeans or leggings -- the skinny jeans just look terrible on me and I feel kind of silly wearing leggings. Do you think that this dress would look good with other types of things on my bottom half?

2. Does anyone know the sizing on her stuff? I'm a pretty standard size 6, and I usually buy Smalls, but I've heard that Rachel Pally runs small.

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

is it this one?

I've never tried this on, but I don't think you should worry about size so much since RP stuff has so much give. Either an S or M should fit you. I'd get the S if you're more petite/small chested and the M if you're taller/fuller on top.

I'd wear it over bootcut jeans, I think it would look really silly over skinnies, actually.

If you're in Los Angeles, RP has her sample sale the first week of August. Really good.

Oooh, I like that one! The one I was looking at is a different one -- gah, I wish I could figure out how to post the picture!

Actually, maybe this will work:

Ah, I got it! I was thinking of getting it in the heather color, though.

Thanks for the advice on sizing. I really, really shouldn't be buying anything right now, but I have that urge, it's terrible...

I've tried that one on. I think it looks cute over bootcut jeans as long as you're tall enough. However, if you are shorter (like me) it's actually a decently cut minidress which I'd wear with tights and boots during the fall.

I always forget that the dress I posted is the 'caftan' one and the kimono one has puffy sleeves.

Ah, that's good to know. I'm not that tall so it would probably be possible for me to actually wear it like a dress. Lilykind, would you recommend a purchase? It sounds like you tried it on but did not purchase, so let me know what you think.

I'm so biased because I own 5 RP pieces, three of which are dresses, and I'm planning on stocking up despite the fact that a lot of uber fashionistas say that the stretchy modal/drapey stuff is on the way down. It's the most comfortable, soft fabric ever and makes me look so much more pulled together than just wearing sweats or something like that.

I do like the kimono dress, it's just that I always find something more esoteric int he RP collection that I'll gravitate towards. Also, the sleeves do look odd sometimes since I have such a large chest.
