Hates:

  • DH Mentioned this weekend he doesn't "get" the whole footless tights under skirts trend, especially when a girl is wearing them in 115 degree L.A. weather.

Likes:

  • Bermuda Shorts.

  • The 50's hair trend, he likes the "elvis" or "rooster" poof thing at the crown. A la Dixie chick:

my hubby doesn't like the shrug thing.  he also doesn't like the layering.  he hates the idea that you don't have to match perfectly, as long as your colors go together.  he thinks if i am wearing blue i should be wearing blue.

I whole heartedly agree with him on this. I'm not that into footless tights anyway, but it just seems so ridiculous in the heat.

i feel that my boyfriend is pretty fashion forward but he doesn't like footless tights either. he feels like it was bad then and and it's bad now.

other things he doesn't understand.. some may not be the most fashionable of trends:

small pouchlette bags (these are a strong phenomenon where we live)

sweatpants with writing on the butt... in line with this.. he doesn't really understand juicy.

he also can't stand abercrombie and especially reuhl. he finds it degrading that teenage boys who work there stand outside the store without their shirts on!

the whole drizzled paint, tie-dye look.. things like grail. he doesn't get.

The only trend I know my boyfriend hates is dresses over jeans.

My DH hates knit gauchos.  I'm not a fan either, so we are good on that one.  He also hates anything weather inappropriate.

He loves wrap dresses, boots w/ anything, and layered tanks.

My current bf isn't very vocal about things he likes/doesn't like (the only think I've ever heard him say about anything I'm wearing is "why are you so dressed up?" one of the first times we went out...now I'm always paranoid he'll think I'm too fussy! He lives in another city, though, so I can bust out all of my pretty stuff 99% of the time. It's weird, but I dress down when I see him)

But my ex bf and I would have field days people watching. He hated anything that was too trendy, like gauchos, or huge sunglasses. He hated anything that could possibly be something you would see at a high school, like writing on your butt. Also, to my dismay, he hated capris of any length

My hubby thinks wedge heels look horribly ugly but that doesn't stop me from wearing them. And he hates all those tops that look like maternity clothes and that are everywhere right now. But then again, I don't like those myself.

My BF doesn't like wedges or winter-type boots worn with skirts or pants tucked in (knee-high leather boots are a definate yes in his book though).  He really hates huge sunglasses but surprised me this weekend when I replaced a pair of sunglasses that are bigger than what I had and he said they looked fine.  Generally, he trusts women with their fashion instincts and only voices an opinion when he really likes or dislikes something.

No BF but ex hated big sunglasses.  That's the only thing I remember him being adamant about.

Hubby doesn't like cargo pants/shorts/skirts/capris.  He thinks they're too "manly" for women to wear.  Amusingly, he knows what "mom jeans" are and hates those.   And he doesn't "get" designer jeans, but doesn't really dislike them.

Bf doesnt get designer jeans as well--more like the insane cost of them.  Other than that, he doesnt really care about fashion--at least he hasnt made any comments to me about it.

my bf is so funny about fashion. He doesn't like any trends at all. He only wears jeans, t's hoodies. And he likes it when I wear jeans, t's, hoodies.

His list of pet hates is a mile long...leggings, not matching, big sunglasses...you name it, he probably hates it.

He doesn't understand why I own so many pairs of shoes. He also HATES skinny jeans (he says it's like one bad high school flashback) and is the first to say that they aren't flattering to my figure.

He loves dancewear type stuff (leotards/leggings/flowy dresses), non-skinny jeans, the whole Abercrombie/AE aesthetic and large bags.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that most men would be happier if empire-waisted, loose tops and dresses were out of the picture.  Men are all about the hourglass figure, waist definition, etc. etc. :)

Can't think of any offhand. DH doesn't really pay much attention to women's fashions.
