I sure hope pointed toe styles are still in because most of my fall, winter shoes are more pointy than round. I cant afford to buy a whole new shoe wardrobe, so I will just tell myself that they are classic, and ignore any critics who say otherwise!! I did buy a couple round toe shoes, with a platform sole- so I am somewhat current .
I don't think they're out. They just aren't the hottest thing for fall. As with any other fashion trend, it's all cyclic. A few years ago, pointy toes were the 'thing' and round took a back seat. Now it's the opposite. I'll continue to wear pointy, round, whatever. The only kind of toe I don't like (and never have) is square.
i truly feel that the pointy toe will not be going out any time soon. i don't think they will ever really go out. after wearing a pointy toe, i don't think i could ever go back to the boxy square toe that was in for so long. eeuuuyyyuck.

I totally agree -- it's all a cycle and everything comes back again. For example, I wore leggings in middle school and never thought they'd be back in style, and yet here they are. If you love your pointy toed shoes, then wear them!
I don't think pointy shoes are out at all. I personally happen to like round-toe shoes and boots better so I'm going to wear those. I like the way they make my boat-like size 10 feet look smaller. But definitely wear pointy shoes if you like them!
