There was a bit of furniture left at my house from the previous owners which I decided to keep to give them makeovers.  I finally got around to the first chair that has been sitting in my office forever!  I'm excited how it turned out!

I don't remember who did it, but my inspiration for doing these projects was from a fellow STer that fixed up that chandelier and made it beautiful!

I think that was BargainQueen!!

I love the "new" chair! It looks like you would have paid a lot for that! You are very creative! I wish I could do something like that!

Aw, thanks!  I feel like a Martha Stewart!

It was quite easy to do in just a few hours.

1. Removed seat and back.

2. Took off old vinyl and the padding which was gross but I did it!

3. Sanded off old finish and spray painted.

4. Cut foam cushion to fit seat, wrapped quilt batting over that and then the fabric.  Staple gunned it on the bottom.

5.  For the back I used the quilt batting, fabric, and stapled to the back.  Getting the back to look nice was a bit tricky so I had to sew up like a placemat piece and then used upholstry nails to give it a nice finished look.

My wrist muscles hurt like hell gripping the sander but it was totally worth it!
