I still don't know how to post pixs from Forever 21 -

I bought the black polka dot shirt the girl has on on the front page of the site - I can't find it in the inventory
www.forever21.com

And this shirt but in an aqua / brown print.

A few tanks from old navy

A pair of dressy khakhi cropped pants from Banana.  They were on sale and I can't find them on the website.

It's hot as hades in Silicon Valley--112 today outside of Valley Fair. The media advised people to go to the malls or movie theaters. Valley Fair had people lined up against the walls, sitting on the floor, just breathing. (It's only 109 at our house. We are not used to this kind of heat. Where are the ocean breezes? Where's the cold fog?)

Not much in the mood to buy winter stuff. I imagine Nordstrom was getting a few more customers!

We bought DH some Tommy Bahama shirts and shorts. I've almost got him convinced it's time to clean out his closet, a la What Not to Wear.

Ugh, I know, this is HORRIBLE. I'm dying. We went to the Marina today to get away from the heat - but it was still pretty hot in SF. We just got back and its SO FREAKIN hot here. I live on the second floor of an apartment building w/ no AC.

I got some clothes for my upcoming Egypt trip, some skirts and loose fitting linen and cotton things.

For real life, I got some fall stuff too, although it was WAY too hot to be trying on sweaters and stuff...

and a couple of shirts to wear with suits

Then I hit Nordstrom's sale and went crazy

I got these in wine:

I got these, but  I think I might return them:

and some workout stuff and shirts in the BP department.

View Larger ImageThis picture doesn't do it justice...It's the sofest leather ever, lined in super soft suede.

This dress has a white bird embroidered on it, with white contrast stitching on the belt and hem.  It's actually a cowl neck with gorgeous seaming, although you can't tell in the pictures.

And a beautiful Wendy Hil white Grecian dress that I plan on wearing with a brown woven leather belt.

I also couldn't order these online so I just called the customer service number from the website and they found a store for me and connected me.  I ordered them on a Mon. and got them Wed.  HTH!

Just a few things I needed for my trip to NYC:

Xhilaration® Stud Hobo - Black and

Xhilaration" Messenger Bag - Orange(in teal - I'm taking off the tassles)

for walking around town - big enough for a book, a map, a bottle of water, and my other junk I usually carry. I wanted a cream or white bag but since I have limited funds, I had to make due with these.

I also grabbed another pair of cheapo sunglasses, since I was there and they were on sale:
Isaac Mizrahi Big Square Sunglasses with Smoke Lenses - Black

Oh and I got a dress for the wedding. I was dubious at first but my friend insisted we try JCPenney (since all my $$$ are going to the trip itself) and I found a knock-off of this BCBG dress for about $50:
BCBG Max Azria Crinkle Charmeuse Bubble Dress

Although thrifty, it was an excellent weekend for buying all the "have to haves" before I leave next month. Now I just have to plan the rest of my wardrobe...
