the best foundation ever for oily skin!
Permalink Closed

This heat is terrible...it's making me even more oily than usual. At this temperature point, anything makes me look like an oil slick.

I was totally messing around at Bloomies last night playing with new foundations in the hopes of finding an easy-to-apply cure. By chance I decided to give the Dior counter a shot since my mom swears by both them and Estee Lauder. I found this. My favorite formulation to apply has always been creme to powder, but it's hard to find a good one. I'm not terribly fond of compacts (which most creme to powders seem to come in) since they're bulky and it seems like you always have to apply with a sponge. Especially a sponge that becomes totally disgusting after two days.

DiorSkin Icone Photo Perfect Creme-To-Powder Makeup

This stuff is pretty much foolproof. It works like a tinted moisturizer but with actual coverage. I was initally attrached to the tinted-moisturizer like tube packaging. You just have to blend in a little more. Fingers work just as great as using a sponge.

I look retouched. I didn't even have to use concealer on my (admittedly lighter, thanks Kinerase!) undereye circles. I am not shiny AT ALL.

Icone Photo Finish, I love you.

is it only for oily skin?  I have dry skin and was wondering if it would work for me, since you said it is sort of like tinted moisturizer

It's a matte finish so I think it's better suited to oily skin. I'd at least go to Sephora or a Dior counter and see how you like it, though my guess is that you'd prefer something that gives you a slight glow and more moisture. The consistency is like tinted moisturizer, but it's definitely a mattifying foundation.

Does it come off when you sweat? That's the problem I've been having lately due to the heat - my foundation goes on fine but comes right off again! I would looooooove a solution to this!

I'm curious - do you think the mattifying effect will last for the whole day? Oh - and what shade did you get it in? I think our skintones are about the same.

032 was the color I got.

The mattifying effect lasted all day on me. I did spend much of the day in air conditioning, but I spent a couple of hours out in the sun with no problem.

I didn't break a sweat so I have no idea how good it is for that though.

The only thing I don't like is the fact that it's only SPF 10.

ETA: jaymiek, you should also try the 030. I really could've gone with either color since they're so close.
