which pair of frye boots do you guys think is more versatile? The Harness or the Campus?
I recently bought a pair of the Harness boots on sale at Nordies but after trying them on at home with jeans... I feel like they're a little too short for the jeans tucked in look.
The campus boots are a great alternative but I dont know about sportin campus boots in DC summer weather with skirts like I planned on doing with the harness. I think I'd look like a 'tard with the heat and the sweat.
I had this exact debate with myself this time last year. I had ordered the harness boots from the Nordstrom sale but then I started to think I wanted the campus boots. The harness boots from Nordies ended up being back ordered for forever and eventually I ended up cancelling the order and getting the campus (due to the recommendations of several STers) and I'm sooooo glad I did. Everytime I wear my campus boots I think about how happy I am that I have them instead of the harness.
But, that said, I live in FL and there's no chance I could wear any type of boot in the summer so my Fryes are reserved for when I visit my parents/friends who live in the Northeast or for that rare cold day in FL. If you're really just getting these boots to wear specifically with skirts in the summer/fall then I do think you should go with the harness. But if you want a really great pair of very versatile boots I highly recommend the campus boot. Also, I was in DC this past April and wore my campus boot with a skirt and wasn't hot or sweaty at all. So, I think you'd even be ok with the campus boots with a skirt for most of the months in DC except for maybe May - September. HTH!
Campus Campus Campus. I just think it's more versatile. I own them.
This is a silly question, but would the Harness be cooler in the summer than the Campus or is it just the style. I've worn the Campus boots in June in NYC before with skirts and I didn't *think* I looked like a 'tard. I hope I didn't look like one!
I have the harness boots and I love them, however I do find that there are times I'd like to have the campus ones instead. Overall, I think the campus are probably more versatile, but I don't really think you can go wrong with either one.
