Thoughts on these wedge boots?

I've been obsessed w/wedge boots since last year and they're so Cheap (Edit: actually $48), am I blinded by the price?

Edit: FWIW, I'm also looking at these, but can't decide which color I would wear the most, the tan is gorgeous, but I'm thinking the black is more practical for me.

IMHO I would pass on the first boots.  They look a bit Herman Munsterish to me.  The thick sole in the toe and the stitches just gives me the Frankensein vibe.

I do however LOVE the second boots you posted.  The tan is Beeyoootiful!  But practicality(sp?) tells me to encourage you to get the black ones.

The "x" stitching reminds me of:

I like the second pair of boots though.  Tan is good but I would worry about getting them dirty and go for the black.

I think I'd like the first pair of boots if they didn't have the stitching. I DO love the second pair though.

I kinda like them, and huge wedge platforms will be big for fall (look at chloe)

if you want something more toned down, you might want to look at the Steve Madden Encorre boots (these are on sale at zappos for $39.95 (marked down from $133) - I just received them yesterday and I love them. I uncuffed mine, otherwise they are mid-calf on me. They look great though -- slouchy and comfortable too - I highly recommend!

OMG! I wanted those Encorre boots so bad last year and I waited too long and they were sold out everywhere! I went off to Zappos and of course they only have them in 8-8.5 and I need a 6.5! Thanks anyway!

I think I"ll pass on the platform wedge boots for now, if I do end up getting them, I'll remove the stitches.
