Eyeliner: In or Out

I apply to the top lid and then on the bottom lid (but just the very outside corner). I personally don't like dark eyeliner on the bottom - especially when its a really stark/crisp line.

Also, when I say "liner" I actually just use eye shadow w/ an angle brush and add a little water so it becomes a bit of a liquid while I apply. I prefer a softer look.

I do the same as kitty with the eyeshadow,although I used to wear it inside my eye but it seems to wear off so quick

The only time I line the lower half of my eye is when I'm going for the rocker-chick look. I adore it and will wear it so long as I don't have any wrinkles.

Most of the time I just apply a line along the eyelid all the way along hte top of my eye with a fine eyeliner brush. I use Stila Smudge Pot in black. I don't know how I lived without it...I've had it for 8 months, used it every day, and I still have a whole crapload left.

Ditto - I do the same thing and I also apply it to my lower line as well. But never on the inside of my lid on either top or bottom.

Is that Stila stuff fool proof? I'm so afraid to spend the money on it if I won't have a steady enough hand to make a good line. Does that make sense?

i line the inside of my lid. both on top and on bottom, and then add a shadow to the top lin along the lash line, and a tiny bit along the bottom lid along the lash line. i especially like to line the inside of the eyelid with a grey liner. it makes my blue come out in my eyes. but my favorite colors to use are emeral and deep purple.

if I'm going out at night, I'll use a dark liner but I apply it on the outside - I'm afraid of sticking a pencil so close to my eye! I smudge it into the lash line

This will sound so goofy, but I'm glad that you posted this. I've like, forgotten that eyeliner has been an option lately! I used to wear it every single day - now it doesn't even occur to me when I'm going out because I'm so stuck in my everyday routine of shadow, and mascara

I look so washed out without eyeliner. I think that's my staple. If I had to wear only one makeup item, it would be eyeliner. I just look so yucky without it! I can't be the only one that wears it everyday!?!

You're not the only one nunzi! I wear it every day too and it's definitely my staple. I look so washed out and tired, not to mention super young w/out it!

i don't wear it every day, but more like every other day to every couple of days. depends entirely on what kind of mood i'm in. i go through mood swings with my makeup. half the time i want to be pretty and natural and light and fresh, and the other half of the time i want to be edgier and hard or dark an mean or something like that, and those are the days i usually wear eyeliner.

I wear it everyday that I wear makeup! I obviously don't get all gussied up to hang at home but when I apply makeup I use black eyeliner on my top & about half way on the bottom - under my lashes, though, not in the inside. I just find that on the inside it gets in my eyes & washes off - although I haven't tried it in years. But I think / assume that's why it's bad for you? But I always feel like my makeup isn't done if I don't have on eyeliner.

Did anyone see the makeup special that was on Tyra Banks' show? They put some used makeup under a microscope - it was truly disgusting the # of critters in it! Sorry - I know that is a tangent, but somewhat related. :)

I only use eyeliner on my bottom eyelid, since I'm terrible at applying it on top. Sometimes I line my rims - upper or lower.

Yes. If you mess up a bit you can just smudge it with one of these and it will still look great. This is actually a good brush to use if you're afraid of messing it up.

I apply it on the (shaky, rattle-y) bus and I haven't had any problems with it looking bad.

PS: I wear eyeliner ALL THE TIME unless I'm actually going au naturel.

I don't use it every day, but when I do, I do it the same way kitty does. I either use dark eyeshadow or a smudge pot. I have no idea how people line the inside of their eyelid. I have tried and I either poke myself in the eye, or it doesn't show up at all.

nunzi - the smudge pots are great. I have them in grey and bronze. I think they're MUCH easier to apply than pencil (I can't get a good line with a pencil ever), but they do take a little bit of practice and a good brush. I use a brush like the one Lilykind posted, or one like this for a more subtle line:

i line under my lashes- not on the rim of the eyelid. it kinda grosses me out to do that- though i like the look. i also only usually put eyeliner on the bottom, not on top half (the actual lid). i like the way that looks and its half the effort!

I use eyeliner everytime I wear make-up. I only wear it on the top lid. Like the others, i prefer to use a dark eyeshadow and a flat brush. I find that I get more precision and control this way and it seems to last a lot longer than just a pencil.

I wear eyeliner 50% of the time. It really makes my eyes pop.

Mainly I just use a Stila shadow and use an eyeliner brush to apply it to the top lid. For evenings I might use a little on the outside corner of the lower lid. For all out night, I'd put it on the inner lid (lower only) or do it rocker-style like some other girls said.
