You have a couple pencil skirts, yes? I'd do one of those. I'd also wear heels or a slender boot instead of flats (a little 'girlish' to me). Also, keep that turtleneck underneath (if you plan to wear it) very, very fitted so you can still see the shape of your arms clearly.

You could also try a wide, low-slung belt around your hips to give the top a bit more structure.

I don't think its out, the trend was never really picked up by the mainstream, or at least I never saw anyone do it in person, and I think its really cute. so go for it! I like the idea of pencil skirts.

I definitely don't think it's out. In fact, I'm stocking up on l/s t's and mock turtleneck t's for fall to layer exactly like this. I love this look, but then I've been into layering since it became the thing to do.
