Do you return alot of things? If so, what makes you return things? Have you ever bought and returned something the same day?

I rarely ever return anything. But yesterday I bought some sandals, then wore them thru the mall while shopping. 20 stores later, they were totally hurting my feet so I returned them- less than an hour later. The sales guy must have thought I was such a weirdo- but there was no point in me keeping them and making another trip back to return them, right? But it was a bit embarrassing.

I return a lot of things. I don't think I've ever returned something in the same day though.

My main reasons for returning are:

  • don't want to take time in the dressing room to see if it fits
  • can't tell if it's comfortable (shoes mainly), need to test drive at home
  • not sure if it will work in my wardrobe (have to compare it to things in my closet)
  • if it's on sale, I usually buy now, decide later. That way I don't kick myself later when my size is gone.

I hardly ever return anything.  I usually spend a lot of time thinking about an item before I make a purchase.  By the time I buy, I know that I want it and it'll work for me.

I occasionally return things if it turns out that a few months go by and I haven't worn them or if I buy online and it doesn't fit right.  And, I think you are totally justified in returning the shoes same day if you've decided that they won't work for you.

I return stuff all the time. I'm going to end up on the list of people that are banned from returning! Mainly the stuff I return is to Walmart / Target. Mostly clothes for Target that I'm too lazy to try on - I grab my size but not all brands fit alike, etc.

I don't think i've ever returned something the very same day though - you have me beat on that point! I don't blame you. Although I do think it's funny that you put on the shoes you just bought - that reminds me of when we used to get our new school shoes & ask to wear them out of the store! I have done that too though - some are just too fabulous to live in a box even a minute longer.

I am return CRAZY. If I can get away with it (like the tag isn't in an obvious place) I will actually try to wear the item once to see if I like it. All too many times I've bought something that looked cute on, but after a full day of wearing it I realized I just didn't like it, or it kinda stretched out, or it wasn't comfortable, etc.

I also just feel like i need to be in something for more than the 5 minutes you spend in the dressing room to know if you like it or not.

I also typically take pictures of me wearing whatever I buy, I don't know why this is so different than just looking in a mirror, but it seriously is.

And yes, I have returned something the same day.

I've returned things on the same day, but usually just if I'm at the mall, buy something, and then find a similar item that I like better or is cheaper. Then I'll go back to the original store since I'm only, at most, a floor away. But I take a LONG time in dressing rooms deciding what I want, so I usually only buy things I love. I probably return things 5-10% of the time if I buy in a B&M store. I return things a lot more when I buy them online, though, because I can't spend all that time in the dressing room fidgeting with it.

I return all the time.. I am probably on the most hated list for all the stores I shop in. They see me coming with bags in tow and I have a bad feeling I will be banned soon!

I return probably 50% of what I buy. I LOVE the mall and will go just to waste time even if I know I don't need anything. Also, I can't shop on a budget. I always spend WAY more than I want to and I have a tendency to get carried away in a store like Nordies or even Gap.

Usually by the time I get home, the buyers remorse kicks in.. I feel guilty or my husband yells (or both) and I pick through my purchases and return the things that I like but don't love.

I am always on a mission to find better or cheaper too. I will buy a pair of black pumps and then I will search far and wide for better black pumps, hopefully at the cheaper price. It's like a challenge. If I find better or cheaper, I always return.

Also, I know what I like and continue to buy my favorite basics (jeans, tee, tanks, etc). This results in a lot of duplicates and then returns. I counted in my closet the other day... 7 jean skirts! What is the matter with me?

The early bird gets the worm...

It's happened quite a few times that I've liked something in the store, but not bought it because it was too expensive, couldn't decide, etc. Later, if I can't stop thinking about it, I'll go back and oftentimes the item is gone!

Certain stores purposely don't make a lot of any one item, in order to increase demand and discourage people from waiting for sales.

From this, I've learned that if I see something I like, it's better to buy it then wait! I'm also return crazy, but I just can't help it!

Lately I have been returning about half of the things I purchase.  This is mainly because I have been shopping online quite a bit and its just easier to have it shipped to your house and then just go to the store and return it easily instead of going there, shopping and being tired, possibly not liking it the next day and driving back to the mall.

In general, I only return things I've bought online. And that's just because they don't always fit right. I used to think that buying shoes online would be easier but lately I've ended up with a few pairs that didn't fit so I've had to return them.

I can only think of one B&M purchase I had to return. I bought a pair of running shoes from Foot Locker that were terribly expensive. I was completely clueless and no-one in the store bothered to help me so I pretty much just grabbed something just to get that whole ordeal over with. Once I got home I realized that the shoes really were far too pricey and that I didn't even need actual running shoes, so I took them back the next day. And I swore I would never set foot in that store again because of the non-existent customer service.

I don't remember ever buying and returning something on the same day but I do tend to do a lot of returns.  Mostly from online shopping.
