Your favorite stupid movie..
Permalink Closed

Since I'm working from home I usually have a movie or something going on TV - something I've already seen so that I don't have to pay attention but still am entertained. Today it is Sugar & Spice - the one about the pregnant cheerleader bank robber....I mean really, what is better than that?

I figure there has to be lots of stupid / fun movies out there - much like confessing the song you are most ashamed of on your ipod - fess up!

I'm not sure if this falls into the "stupid movie" category, but Zoolander is one of my favorite movies of all time.  I love Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson in that movie.

Big Trouble in Little China is on my list of top 5 movies.  It has Kurt Russell(who has awesome delivery) and Kim Cattral(Sex and the City)  There are so many great lines and physical humor

I don't think it is stupid, but I'm sure that is the category most people place it in

I love Zoolander too NCShopper

I love silly/cheesy 80's movies. I used to LOVE all of these when I was younger.

I ADORE these movies!!! Let me just add mine, and let me say, my list is long and I'm not sure why, I guess am a sucker for stupid movies!!!

* Just One of the Guys
* Win a Date with Tad Hamilton
* Labrynth and Legend - they go hand in hand in the stupid/cheesy/fantasy category
* Big Girls Don't Cry
* Starship Troopers
* Strictly Ballroom
* Bring It On

OK, I'm starting to get embarrased!!!

These two would have my vote! Plus Princess Bride...I'm a sucker for cheesy fantasy movies.

Willow (another cheesy fantasy movie, but with Val Kilmer instead of Tom Cruise) is in my Netflix queue and I'm thinking of moving it up to the top. And Time Bandits was also quite good.

But more stupid cheesy stuff: I loved Sugar and Spice and Bring It On. I even sorta want to see the gymnastics movie that's sorta like Bring It On. Again..with the Netflix, I'm waiting on Mean Girls.

I also love The Burbs.  I think it was Tom Hanks last great film.

I love Willow- its a great movie. I don't think its cheesy at all. And you will love Mean Girls.

I love Shallow Hal with Jack Black. It actually has areally great message about falling in love with someone's inner beauty. And Jack Black is a comedy genius.

I like all those old 60's beach movies- Gidget, Beach Blanket bingo, the Elvis movies. They are just too much fun.

  • adventures in baby-sitting is sooo great

  • don't tell mom the baby-sitter's dead- i just love all the characters in that movie, the boss, the siblings, the sleazy older guy

  • clueless- i can pretty much recite the movie

and my #1 favorite movie that you have to watch....Teen Witch.  it's such a great 80's movie with some weirdness.  there's also amazing outfits and dances in the movie.  it's just sooo freaking great.

I have to 3rd Adventures in Babysitting - I love that movie.  I used to make my parents rent it for me once a week! Another great one is Can't Buy Me Love.

No way, shopgirl82!  Teen Witch is one of faves too: [sings] "I want to be the most popular girl!"  i think "Brad" falls in to the "Jake Ryan" category of whatever happened to ...

Sheesh, I'm really lame.

This is weird. Last weekend I watched Adventures in Babysitting for the first time since I was little. It's so funny. And a couple weeks ago I watched Teen Witch for the first time. I love it when the dorky friend does the rap lip-synch with the "cool" guy... so cheesy.

I think some of the movies listed (Zoolander, Overboard) are really smart and clever.

My list of stupid movies includes:

Clifford (Martin Short/Charles Grodin - I love this film, but would never recommend it to anyone else)

Pootie Tang

Straight Talk w/ Dolly Parton - for some reason, everytime I catch this movie while flipping through channels, I usually watch the whole thing even if I have better things to do. This is true for most Dolly Parton movies.

Urban Cowboy - it just so serious, yet it's about a guy whose goal is to be the top mechanical bull rider at a local bar.
