Handbags valued at $20,000 stolen from Santana Row's Gucci store Bay City News Service
San Jose police are investigating the theft of as much as $20,000 worth of designer handbags from the Gucci store at Santana Row.
According to San Jose Police Department spokeswoman Gina Tepoorten, an unshaven black male, described as being in his early to mid 20s, standing 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds entered the store at approximately 11:30 a.m.
`He sprayed some type of chemical in the air, possibly pepper spray,'' Tepoorten said.
The suspect then made off with nine handbags valued at between $18,000 to $20,000. he was last seen fleeing in a light blue, newer model Acura, according to Tepoorten.
