Dear eBay Customer,

There is a problem with the card you used while bidding at one of our auctions.
A communication problem with the bank server might have caused that problem too
but we are unable to collect our commission.

Until the problem is solved you would need to use a different card so, please,
log into your account and enter the new card details.

eBay Online Service
Looking forward to a good co-operation.

Best wishes,
Barry Osborne

Um yeah, I'll get right to that!  First of all, you don't bid on Ebay's auctions, you bid on sellers auctions.  Second, you don't use a card to check out on Ebay!  Third, Ebay doesn't collect commission from the bidder, they bill that to the seller.

Are other ebayers getting these scam e-mails all the time or is it just me?  I'm also getting all this weird junk mail at least 3 times a day that is very similar with nonsence subjects from different sender names.  It must have come from ebay, because that e-mail is used for only family, ebay, paypal, and financial stuff.

This reminds me...I just started selling on ebay about two months ago. I keep getting these "ebay invoice" type things...am I supposed to pay those? Or does ebay automatically take the money out of my account for the items sold?

I think you can forward all of these spam emails to spoof@ebay.com and they'll investigate them.

And I'm sure everyone knows this, but never respond to them!!

I get similar ones all the time - from "ebay" and "paypal" - I always send them to that spoof address but I doubt they find out anything or do anything about them.

It just seems like they could catch ONE of these people & do a big write up about it to deter the fraud but I guess not.
