the wedding is my english wedding that i was asking RSVP help for! i am never this clueless about weddings but for some reason on this one i am!
it is at 1:45 on a friday. it is being held at a hotel about 20 mins outside of london where the bride grew up. the invite says the wedding itself is being held in the courtyard of the hotel and the reception in one of the ballrooms.
can i see examples of what shoes you would suggest? i've just been browsing zappos and nothing in my head seems to look right...
My sister wore this dress to her graduation with the red Jessica Simpson Barb slingbacks. Surprisingly, it looked really cute. I thought that it would be too much red, but it really made it fun.
what about these? I was thinking about a peep toe or strapy heel. I cant find any bronze ones that would look right. I was thinking of navy too. Will try to post more later

sounds adorable- but i already have the JSimpson barbs in black and I don't want to get them in red too. they hurt too much to have them in two colors!
let me start by saying I really like the blue shoes with it. I'm just going to share an observation... You will be one of few (if any) Americans there - there's potential that you may be dubbed "the American who dressed like a flag" if you continue with the red/white/blue theme. I understand the British flag has the same colors, but I just thought I would point out your patriotic color choices. You being an American will be attention (and I'm sure you'll have many wanting to complain about the US to you) - just didn't know if you wanted to play up the American card.
again - just an observation - and maybe it's not an issue for you at all.
Personally, I would wear black peeptoes with it, along with a black pashmina or short jacket. it will be September, and the British can be a bit traditional/conservative when it comes to dressing for weddings (i.e. hats) but I think you could look really chic even if you don't wear a cover-up - I love the idea of black peeptoes and a black wide brim hat with that dress - kind of a nod to the 1940's

detroit- OMG!!!! thank you for making that observation! i didn't even think of it- i was just going with what looked great with the dress and the navy seemed so different than plain ol' black shoes (which i do already have so you guys just saved me some $$$).
*sigh* i didn't even think of people complaining about the US... guess i better get ready mentally for this trip!
