Need help with daytime semi-formal

Sorry for the huge pic but would this skirt work for a daytime wedding reception with cocktail/semi-formal attire? If so, what should I wear with it? Oh and ignore the house (and the awkward pose) in the background - it's my mother's, not mine.

I like that skirt a lot.  Its very cute and fits your body well.  However, I don't think I would wear it to a wedding.  The shirt would be very important in this outfit and I am having a hard time picturing it with something that is not casual.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.  Do you need other ideas?

Yes! I thought the semi-formal daytime bit would be the easiest but now I'm not so sure... the formal black-tie evening bit is looking a little easier.

I have a few semi-formal dresses but they're all dark brown and black (or a mixture), so I'm not terribly sure how they'd go over in the daytime (morning to mid-afternoon).

If youre worried about the other dresses you have being too dark, you can wear a colorful wrap or shoe and jewelry.  I dont think that would be a problem even if it is in the afternoon.

I think it's stoo casual.

I agree with doing a dress. Do you maybe have a sundress that you can dress up? If not, maybe you can get something cheap at f21 that's cute and would work...

I agree!  I wore a black dress (same kind of wedding situation) and I wore pink heels and had a park pink nailpolish on with pearls.  I didn't feel drab at all.
