Sometimes on a Friday or Saturday night when I have the apartment to myself i like to go to longs and buy the following:

- Trashy magazines
- Cinnamon bears (I have a weird obsession for these things)
- Face masks or some sort of foot/pedicure product

Other luxuries include:

- Banana chocolate chip coffee cake from Starbucks
- Manicures/Pedicures
- Deep conditioners
- coloring books and markers/crayons

-magazines (I love magazines, I'm such a junkie. It's awful. I'll buy Maxim once I've read all the women's magazines. It's a good thing I work for a magazine - I get my fix daily haha)
-pedicures (I have an at-home kit that I try to use, but really nothing beats someone else doing it for me)
-underwear from Frederick's. I know it can be trashy, but I really really love some of their more sane stuff, and it's cheaper than a lot of stores.

ETA:
-a local coffee shop makes the BEST Caramellas, it's like $4 but I can't ever resist when I'm there

Usually when I'm near Sees, I will stop in for a small bag of chocolates.  The brown sugar ones are divine!


Magazines.  Usually just Lucky and Shop Etc.


Strawberry Extreme smoothies at Orange Julius.


The occasional scratch ticket.  I will buy it in the grocery store and usually forget about it by the time I come home.  When I remember it, it's exciting!

  • Godiva dark chocolate macaroons or strawberries. Or dark chocolate anything, really.

  • Gossip rags (I read them at the newsstand usually)

  • A couple of places I know give awesome manis and pedis that cost around $30 for both.

  • There's a massage place in Beverly Hills that's low key but fantastic, they charge $52 an hour for a massage.

  • Starbucks Venti White Chocolate Mocha with extra whip (read extra 5 pounds at waistline). Bonus points for the Peppermint one they serve during the hoildays...the red sprinkles make my year.

  • Baklava.

  • A cocktail at a good bar.

Is it wrong that I dig getting new pens? I got some recently & they write purple, green, orange, etc & they are really smooth - so fun - feels like the first day of school.

I second coloring books & colors - so fun.

Oh no that's not wrong, I love pens too!  In fact, I am getting very excited about doing some "back to school" shopping in the next few weeks when all that stuff is dirt cheap!


I love the caligraphy marker pens-I do consider these a luxury!

i love buying new pens, especially cutesy ones. I find that I take better notes in class when i write with a good pen...haha.

Good poll!  When I need a treat for myself, I go for:


  • New underwear
  • A grande skim caramel macchiato from Starbucks and some madeline cookies (yum!)
  • A new candle
  • I second the Philosophy 3-in-1
  • Trouser socks during the fall/winter
  • Caramel or candied apples from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Co. for DH and I for dessert
  • A nice bottle of wine

I thought of another one yesterday! I love getting organic fruit and vegetables. It usually tastes better to me, although that might just be from the effect of feeling good about not putting as much crap into my system. My grocery store always seems to be changing which ones they have available, so I usually just get whatever they have out. I'm a fruit fiend, so it's very nice

- Comic books/graphic novels (yes, I am a total nerd)
- Books from amazon (you can get used books for like a penny)
- New pajamas - I LOVE the feeling of new pajamas. Plus, you can get them at target for under $20

mine are:



  • manicures- whenever i feel sad or depressed all i have to do is schedule an appt. with my girl and i feel sooooo much better!

  • ice cream... any kind any time... always makes me feel happy!

  • friday mornings i am usually working from home, so i roll out of bed throw on a baseball cap and run to our local coffee shop.  i get a chai tea and a muffin and then come home and proceed to work the rest of the day in my sleepwear.  it feels absolutely sinful- but i am really productive!
