i got at F21 these shoes to go with a dress i have. the dress:


 



i think the idea of them is really cute, and i have been obsessed with big platforms ... but are these too much?





 


 


 



the dress is kind of flouncy, so i think it balances out the stripperness of the enormous platforms ... am i totally off?  (BTW, they are pretty comfortable and not heavy at all)


or should i just wear my new steve maddens with this dress (it's for a starting in the daytime, outdoor 4th of july party on saturday):



 
these are not as dark as they look in the crappy cell phone pic.

Ok, i see the pics now... The dress is super cute.  And I like red shoes, I just think the platform portion is a little too high

so i shouldn't wear them?  can you get platforms cut down???  the steve maddens don't look anywhere near as good as the red ones do, right?

Okay, I'm going to be honest here. 


I'm not sure either shoe works well with the dress.  I think the red ones are alright, but I think they're too high.  They just don't look quite right with that dress.  And I really like the brown shoes, but they look too heavy and clunky with that dress.  I think a lighter colored shoe would work well.  The dress is so pretty and looks so great on you that I think you want to keep the focus on the dress and I think both pairs attract too much attention to your feet and end up competing with the dress.

i agree. the dress looks AMAZING on you and neither shoe is doing it justice.

Those shoes look just like the Chinese Laundry 'Visa'.  The CL ones don't have such a platform.  There are limited sizes on Zappos right now.  They run really big!  I normally wear a 7, I ordered them in a 6.5 and my feet swim in them
