OK, I need help. I have to turn in a letter of resignation tomorrow morning, and I have no clue what i'm supposed to say. This was my first "real" job, so I was always able to just do it verbally before. My boss said it should be "a few sentances" so apparently "7/17 will be my last day" isn't good enough. WTH am I supposed to write???

To whom it may concern:


I have greatly enjoyed my last X years here.  I appreciate all of the opportunities that have been given to me during this time and the opportunity to grow in this field. 


Unfortunately, July 17th will be my last day here.  I look forward to my last few weeks here.  Thank you again for everything over the past X years.
