So I'm buddies w/the Tech guy at my work, and he's offered to fix my home (personal) laptop for me and my boyfriend. He's restoring the whole system and reloading all of my files/Ipod's, etc. He's doing this in his free time over the weekend, so of course I offered to pay him. He said $20 is good enough, but I feel like I need to give him something else. He's really helping me out and saving me a ton of money. Should I just give him more money, or something else?
ETA: I should give you a little background on him - he's married, has a baby girl, likes the Chicago Cubs, good food, electronics..I don't think he's a drinker. Mid 30's.
How about a gc to a guy type restaurant like buffalo wild wings or something. Then you could put whatever you felt the job was worth to you on it and he wouldn't have to know until he went to the bar with his buddies.
My DH does this for people pretty often & it's always nice to get a GC for it. He has gotten restaurant cards which I appreciate but he's always happiest when he gets Best Buy so he can get something nerdy for himself.
ETA: I don't think it needs to be much either. Just the thought goes a long way - $25 or 30 maybe?
