Gap had these "extra long" beater tanks for awhile in a bunch of colors. I absolutely loved them and bought like 7 of them.

I'm not sure if they are still in stores.

I would recommend staying away from Old Navy..their t-shirts and tanks stretch out and don't hold up after a few washes. I even had one start coming apart within the first hour I wore it.

I usually get the j crew ones at the outlet for ~ $9 each or less.  Just depends on the sale.  If you go with J Crew size down one size as they do stretch out some.  I have one tank from Old Navy (its thicker than their summer version I think since I got it in the fall last year) but its held up well and I'd check them out too.  I've bought the thinner kind from both ON and GAP and they stretched out pretty badly so if they are on the thinner side I'd pass.

^^^Ditto on the J.Crew outlet tanks. They have a great color palette, they're nice and long and hold up well.

I'd try Forever 21, Hollister, Wet Seal, Target, and Free People! :)

I love the Hanes versions for white, black, and gray. Other than that, the Target Mossimo tanks are the best long beaters I've found. They're inexpensive and they come in a variety of colors. I've washed mine tons of times and they haven't stretched out so far.

Personally, my favorite are the Old Navy beaters.  They come in a ton of colors, and mine have held up for years.  I haven't had any trouble at all w/them.

im not sure what qualifys as inexpensive but i love the Abercrombie ones i got this year.  they are super soft like michael stars but 1/2 the price of michael stars.  and, they dont stretch out after wearing, which is my favorite part.  im not a fan of old navy and gap because they are so thick, it gets too hot to wear thos in the summer i feel.
