I was reading something about Rachel Zoe, the celeb dresser who dresses Lindsay, and the rest, and how she is coming out w/ a bag line in the fall with Judith Lieber that will retail for $2k to $10k (hello..whatever..how many do you hope to sell)??
Anyway, so I checked out Judith Lieber's site..ugh..oy vey? These are ugly, right?
The fish costs $3990...I would rather pay to go to Bora Bora and see fish than carry this one?
The dog...same around $3800??? Hand glued..okay...fine..but couldn't she have come up with something better..I think you can get similar items at the dollar store. No offense to anyone who owns one???...
The fish could be cool. The dog, not so much. It's kind of hard to come out with a cute bag when the premise of Judith Lieber is to make odd things into purses. However, I think the fug is part of the charm, though I can't exactly advocate the blowing of a few thousand that could go towards far more beautiful and satisfying purchases.
That said, if Judith Lieber EVER comes out with a squirrel and I am independently wealthy, I will become utterly weak-kneed and barely be able to resist temptation.
the fish one is pretty, but I don't know that I'd use it for a purse... if I had $4000 to spend on a crazy crystal fish, I would probably make it some sort of house decoration rather than use it as a purse

i actually went to the website a couple days ago because i heard her shoes were on sale. sadly, i kinda fell in love with a couple of them....
my feeling is if i had a ridiculous amount of money, and a huge closet room, i would purchase a couple...more for closet art to keep me company while i pick out fabulous outfits than anything

I don't get it either. Every time I see one of these all I can think about is that episode of SATC where Big buys Carrie one & she freaks out because it's proof that he doesn't know her at all.
I think some of them would be cute as a $20 novelty item, but no way in hell they should be thousands of dollars.

Wow! Diff't responses all across the board. I suppose...if you had the $$, but I'd rather blow that on something much more satisfying (as previously stated..by...)
Anyway, I wonder if this means I could go attach some crystals to a weird purse and make $4K. Should have become a bag designer, right?
I think some of them are kinda neat looking. I like the fish. I'm assuming from the price that they're probably really well made bags, with nice finishing like pretty lining, good metal work, and whatnot.
The price is pretty steep, but obviously there are people out there that can afford the bags and get use out of them. If I had that kind of disposable income, I might consider getting one, but since I don't and won't for the forseeable future, I don't think a Judith Leiber bag is in my future.

A great idea! If I was filthy rich I might perch that cute owl on top of my bookcase. But never in a million years would I carry it with me in public.
