"Gentle" elastics?
Permalink Closed

I got my haircut yesterday and i'm resolving to wear it up way less 'cause of damage from elastics and clips. For the times I do wear it up i.e. washing face, brushing teeth does anyone know of any good elastic or barette that wont snag hair?

I like some from Goody, they're glued together instead of clamped with that metal connector, so hair doesn't get stuck in them. After a couple days they usually stretch out funny (I don't use hair bands a lot except for things like washing my face and such, but I always keep one on my wrist in case), but they're like 100 for a dollar so a whole pack can last me a year!

I'd go with a stretchy fabric headband - least likely to cause breakage IMO.

If you really prefer elastics, get the kind without the little metal connectors - that's usually wear breakage happens because hair gets caught in them so easily.

I also really like the Goody ones, they don't snag my hair and they're pretty cheap.

I use the Goody Ouchless elastics too. Mine aren't as cheap since I have to use the thickest elastics, but I spend $2 for around 20. They don't snag that often and they take a while to stretch out.

I would just get a terry headband for your purposes, though...like Elle said. The tension caused by the elastic holding your hair back is spread out over a much wider area if you wear a headband.

Thanks all, I do use the Goody Ouchless (maybe i'm just too paranoid). I guess just putting my hair up less often will help.
