I don't "get" how this show works...whose songs will the contestants be covering? And then afterwards do they go into a "Supergroup" phase, where they write material together and hope to all get along? I want to watch this, I didn't see much of the INXS round. This new one seems like a more challenging process for everyone. I'm also glad that they are creating a whole new group rather than just replacing a dead singer (pet peeve).

wicked - if it's like Rockstar INXS, contestants were given random songs to cover by all different artists - well known rock songs. So I bet it will be the same thing here. As for them going and showing the band together after the pick the singer, writing songs - I doubt it. They didn't do that w/INXS.

I'm pretty excited about this premise for the show. I loved the INXS one, but I always had a problem w/them trying to replace a dead lead singer, so I think this may be better. I like Tommy Lee too - he's hilarious!

^^^^ Oh, okay. I was confused I thought they would be covering Guns-n-Roses, Metallica, Motley Crue songs (i'm getting old and out of touch here). It seems like it would be harder to make a completely new group from scratch, where as with INXS they were just replacing a single member.
