mix and match bikini patterns?

what do you think of mixing patterns/colors with bikini tops and bottoms?  for instance, wearing this top: with this bottom: ?


i never really liked this, it just looks like a mismatched bathing suit to me.  but this weekend i found a cute patterned top at h&m, but didn't like the style of the bottom, so i got a solid color bottom.  the background of the pattern matches the color of the bottom exactly.


is this okay to do, or does it just look weird?

I think it's cute, and it really opens up your options.  I do the same - I found a red and white printed bottom that did unbelievable things for my butt, but no matching top in sight.  I bought a white one instead.  Looks just as good!
