ISO the best tees
Permalink Closed

I need to stock up on a bunch of basic tees. The main thing im looking for is an awesome fit and the length is not too short but not too too long.  Id like to buy a bunch in different colors and styles.

Any specific ideas and/or pics?

Splendid. The fit is great, they are long enough without being ridiculously long, and they are soooooo soft-- without being sheer.

thicker-I second Splendid. I'm wearing one right now and it is just all kinds of soft. It washes and wears really well too. I'm aiming to get more in the future.

thinner-LA Made. They wash super-well but are lighter (like C&C but much better quality) so if you love layering tops def. go for these. these are a little longer than Splendid's. Their bright colors do not fade...it's amazing!

I like Splendid, C&C, and James Perse.. I have a bunch of LA Made tees which are okay but not as nice as the others b/c they pill (when they rub against my backpack on the back). Although C&C stretches out, I really like the fabric, you can tell its high quality cotton and it feels good against the skin.

Are the splendid basic tees structured/fitted.  I know it depends on which style I get, but all the ones I have seen (note: have not tried them on) look like they have no structure and would not look flattering on my body.  I like them to be form fitting, but not painted on,  ha ha.  And I am looking for the thicker tees, so Im probably going to try splendid.  Any specific styles you recommend?

i like c&c too. if you can get the sizing right, it's a good tee. all the ones i've had have held up really well, and since i almost always layer, the sheerness doesn't bother me.

i also really like james perse. the cotton is sooo incredibly soft. the only thing i don't like about james perse is they don't make tees in a ton of bright colors. but if you're looking for a basic neutral color it's a good option.

this is the best tee i've found for my needs- it isn't too long, but sized up (i'm a size 4, got a medium), it is perfectly body skimming/slouchy.  I have it in the white and tan- its on sale now, guess no one can tell its greatness from photo:

I bought some from the j.crew outlet a few months ago and they are the best tees i've ever bought (i've never dabbled in the high-end tees however). They are semi-long and v-neck. I find them really flattering and the cotton is on the heavier side

yup those were the j crew ones I was telling you about nicoley.  They are great but I know you said you didn't have an outlet near you.  Definetly check the j crew website for their final sale though.

They are actually pretty fitted. They run a little big (and look big on the shelves), but they definitely hug the body without being tight feeling. And they are really flattering-- they make me look skinnier while making my boobs look bigger, and they are long enough to not emphasize love handles.

Splendid is awesome.  It is fitted yet not TOO fitted.

LaMade is nice but bit too long for me.

C&C, you have to try them on to make sure the fit is good and sometimes threading is bit bad, IMO. But their dresses are awesome.
