Where do I get them? Is that even what it is called? My DH is going to ireland/ england & needs to be able to charge up his cell & ipod. I just think it's funny that girls think of hair dryers & boys worry about electronics....ANYWAY....Is there somewhere I can get them at a B&M store or do I need to order them online? I am in the Dallas area so I think we have most stores known to woman-kind.
I am going to make sure his phone will work internationally after work today - is there anything else I'm not thinking of that I need to send with him? His birthday is Friday & I'm making him a little "survival kit" that includes books, magazines, etc - I'd like to put some other things in there too if you think of something let me know.
Funny story - he listing some things he needed to do & I told him I'd handle the power adapter issue - he said he hated to bother me about it. I told him nonsense - I'm just going to ask the girls on ST. He said yep, you chicks know about everything from adapters to chicken! (he was entirely sincere, I make cricket's balsamic chicken recipe & he calls it ST chicken when he wants me to make it). I thought that was too cute!

I think I"ve seen them at either brookstone or sharper image if you get into a bind trying to find them. Maybe you can call and say you are looking for an international outlet converter.

Yep, that's what I was going to suggest. Either of those stores will probably have cute things to put in his survival package, too. And you ask about the voltage thing there also that ILC mentioned. I've heard stories of people's electronics frying due to voltage issues. Hopefully any adapter you get would have a voltage... god, what are those called? protector or whatever on them.

be careful- they don't all have both! Some of them will just make it so that you can plug whatever it is in (the outlets are shaped differently) but that's it. You need it to have a voltage converter (they use a whole different system- we have 220 volts and they have 110 or something like that.) Anyway, make sure it has both- when I was studying abroad my friend had one that only converted the plug shape and she fried her super-expensive hairdryer and was devastated.
