Spinoff: did you have a friend that had the same name as you?

I knew several people that were friends with someone who had the same name as them. I always thought it would be neat to be friends with someone who had the same name. So far I haven't found any though lol.

My sister-in-law (husband's brother's wife) has the EXACT same name as me (first AND last name) and believe it or not, it has caused us some major problems at doctor's and dentist offices because they mixed us up!

I knew a few girls with my name but it never caused a problem because I have always gone by my full name, whereas most people with the name use the nickname (Jackie).

Never with the exact same name, but my best friend has a similar sounding name.  Think Nia and Maya.  Both are kind of uncommon, and people would often refer to us together and therefore always switch out letters between our names and call us Mia and Naya.  Constantly.

I have a common name so I've always had one friend/acquaintance with it.  Most the time we spell our name differently and I always go by my full name and they go by a nickname but I hate it when people think I go by that nickname too because I don't !!

I've met people who've had the same name as me, but I don't really have a friend with it, not someone I'm close enough with to have it be a constant problem. In high school there was one girl in my class with my same name, but it actually only mixed us up maybe once or twice, suprisingly

My algebra 1 class in HS had 5 Catherine/Katherine/Kathyrn's in it.  I had been in a school where I was the only Catherine in the entire school before that.

Yep.  I had a class with two other Heather's in high school.  I was best friends with a Heather in high school (and not one who was in that class).  I am also currently friends with a Heather.

I've never met another person w/ the same name as me.  Though there was one girl who went to my college who had the same nickname, but spelled differently.

my first name (Erin) was very popular around the time I was born (78-82 ish), so I knew a lot of girls with the same name as me. None were really close friends of mine, though.

I did know a girl in college with my exact married name. I wasn't married then, but we now have the same first name, last name and middle initial. I didn't keep in touch with her, and I am sort of glad about it, because it would have been weird.

Wow! That is sort of cool, but does it get confusing? Or does one of you go by a nickname?

When I was younger I was always afraid I would fall in love with an Aaron.

Yep, I had two friends with the same name in elementary school.  One of their moms was actually roomies in the hospital with mine the day we were born.  I'm not sure whose idea it was first to go with the name, but I really wish they would have put more thought in to it.  I REALLY hate having a stripper/porn star name.  One of our moms ripped it off from the other one.  All three of us were in the same class in the 5th grade.   Needless to say, our teacher went bananas that year.

I've only ever encountered another Sandy in choir when I was in middle school, but her full name was Alexandra. We were friends at the time, but I haven't seen her since I was 13. I'm a bit surprised at how uncommon my name is.
