I canceled my subscription to Shop Etc this year because it was too much trouble. I would get last months issue exactly on the date I should have been getting this months. It was beyond annoying, so instead of complaining I just canceled it.


I get Lucky pretty much on time, so I have no problems with that. I don't mind getting it on the same day as my bookstore because I think that's fair. As long as I'm not getting it way after, I have no complaints.


As for Bazaar, at first I couldn't figure out the cover thing. Then I realized it was a subscriber thing and I felt dumb.

I finally got mine on Monday I don't think I'll be renewing my lucky subscription either.  I found this interesting tidbit on their forums (I am so bored at work and need the name of a pair of shoes in the current issue)


I recently called the customer service line regarding a missing issue and was told that Lucky subscriptions go out in 3 separate batches every month.  Subscribers are randomly assigned to one of the groups.  This is why some readers get their issues much earlier than others.  I was also told that the last batch is scheduled to be delivered by the 22nd or 26th WTF???(can't remember which), which is pretty darn late!  Had I known this, I probably wouldn't have subscribed.

wicked...I totally did the same thing with Shop Etc...I was so mad when I got home and actually looked at the magazine and realized it was the same one I already had...I wonder how many other magazine junkies were sucked in like us?

Lucky pretty much uses the same 12 covergirls over and over. Last spring/summer they had Amanda Peet and the Felicity girl on the cover, and then they had them again this spring/summer. I think Rachel Bilson has been on it a couple of times too.

I haven't had trouble getting mine ----- in fact, they send me 2!!!!!!  I have no clue why, and I better not have paid for a renewal and they're sending me double!

I wish they had a "Lucky on the cheap" or something...I'll see a cute dress or coat in lucky and then come to find out it's $600 or something. They need to make a poor woman's lucky!

I know its lame, but I subscribe to Seventeen because there's nothing in there I can't afford!

I actually really really like Teen Vogue for cheap(er) stuff. They may feature Marc Jacobs and Moschino all the time, but they always do a pretty good job mixing it in with the cheaper stuff.

They used to show much more affordable items, way back when. Then I think they just got too big for their britches. Now everything is a friggin' fortune (with rare exception).

Totally agree. It used to be the exception when things were $200+, now it's the norm. The first thing I do when I read is scan the prices to see if its even something in my range.

Well with Shop Etc. I got mine $2.63 for a whole year's subscription so I'm not complaining.  I enjoy looking at Lucky, but it's not like WOW or anything.
