Spa certificate, giftbasket of goodies from Bath & Body works, cookbooks/home decor books for when she goes to college, photo-albums or journals with a nice print, gift cert for her fav store,, pretty linens for her dorm. If all else fails, I"m sure she won't mind the cash.

My two favorite graduation gifts were a set of nice monogrammed towels and a nice jewelery box. Or cash. She'll appreciate cash.

I agree that cash would be a good idea, but so impersonal.  I think that it would be a good idea to get her one of those shower tote baskets with some shower get, lotion, loofa (sp?), etc from BBW or the Body Shop.

ETA: Though it may be lame, a gift card to Amazon, Borders or Barnes and Noble bc if she is off to college or whatever, she will NOT want to shell out her own money for books.

I like the spa gift certificat idea, because once you first get to college, you are a)stressed out because everything is so crazy new and b) too poor to pamper yourself

ETA: c) in love with all the hot college boys, and you want to be hot too!

is she into fashion?  if so, i'd get her a shopbop gc, more personal than cash but so versatile.  she can use it to buy herself something pretty.  or if you know her well enough, maybe buy her something pretty yourself?

For my graduation (class of 2005), one of my favorite gifts was a really nice Filofax dayplanner. I got this one, except mine was a different pattern:

This is AWESOME especially if she is going away to college; she is going to need something to keep her all organized

I would've loved to receive anything travelgirl posted, how cute!

How about a gc to Amazon?  That way she can get pretty much whatever she wants (books, cds, dvds, target stuff, shopbop, etc.).  It's become my favorite gc to give.

How about a pretty sterling silver necklace?  Something nice and delicate that she can wear with anything and keep for always:

This one is from Peggy Li
