Allison, well I like it now but when I was in grade school there were 7 other Allison's in my class. We all became Allie's D's P's or W's....My dad and husband are really the only ones that still call me Allie, but my Dad spells it Ali, I don't know why? I used to wish that my name was spelled Allyson, not with an I, but I always liked the double L.

Well...it's allright - Jill. I sometimes wish it was more exotic. I don't really get nicknames from it, so it's pretty straightforward. And I've only met a few other Jills in my lifetime. The only thing I get is that many people call me "Julie". No offense to any Julies anywhere, but I HATE being called Julie. It's like people are too friggin' lazy and to me by my correct first name. I refuse to answer to Julie!

I know exactly what you mean. I mean Jill and Julie are not even close. I said before my name is too short to shorten but I do get people trying to make it longer for no reason. I have people who try to call me Katherine. That is just like making Jill into Julie...I don't respond either. For some reason UPS decided they would just make up their own name for me It's really irritating.

Now that I'm an adult and I did not chose a career in exotic dancing or porn--NO.  I go by  "T", hence my screename, or Tiff.

My name is cute for girls under that age of 10 and very common for strippers and porn stars. So I like to disassociate from my name as much as possible.

When I have kids one day, I will think long and hard about giving then names they can grow into adulthood with.

My name is Heather.  I had about a thousand Heather's in my class growing up.  I think people assume I go by HeatherLynn, but I don't.  I just had to use that on FashionHag because there was already a heather and I am so not creative and had used the name heatherlynn on a bunch of other stuff.  I like the name Heather though. My grandma use to make me feel so special by telling me about the meaning of my name.  =)

No, not really-- not my first name anyway. I've never really felt like my first name fit me, but I always liked my middle name (and my first and middle names together are pretty). I started going by my middle name in college (once I was away from the parents).

I have a million nicknames, too, from my initials to shortened forms of my middle name to both my first and middle name together. I'll answer to any of them. What I won't answer to anymore is my first name (unless my parents are using it).
