I have a wedding to go to in August (see post in General section for all the details) and I need a dress for the black-tie, evening wedding. My dilemma is cost. It will be a very fancy soiree and I need something that looks uber-quality, although I don't want to spend a lot of money. These are some dresses I've found that I like, although the price is a bit much. Maybe they'll be on sale by August? Anyone have any suggestions or know of any similar, less-expensive finds?


Also, quite frankly, I'm not certain what to wear for a black-tie event. I don't want floor-length and I want to be able to wear it again.

I love the vintage-y feel of #2 and think it would be perfectly appropriate for a black tie wedding.  You could glam it up with the right jewelry, a killer pair of shoes, and a wrap/shawl.  I also like #3 a lot but think #2 is the most fun.

I just bought this one from Nordstrom online.  It ships out on 6/15 so I'll let you know how it goes.  I tried on the other style that NCShopper has posted before but I was popping out of the dress.  This one looks a tad higher and like you can wear it again.  Its $78.
