oh lord, there are other Civ nerds on ST besides me and Bastet? My boyfriend got me into this game and now I am obsessed with it. I'm curious how the Mac version will run, cause the PC one has been buggy as hell. There's supposed to be a big mod coming out sometime soon but I haven't heard anything about it in a while...

You're not alone! :) My brother has a PC and has been playing the new version since before Christmas, or whenever it came out, and I've been so jealous. I started playing this in middle school one winter when we were housebound during a big snowstorm. Sephorablue, they have some update with warlords where you get new scenarios and leaders all about waging war -- have you heard about that?

I'm not sure... the one I heard about was supposed to add a bunch of new leaders and scenarios so yeah, maybe it's the same. My BF said it was supposed to include an Ancient Mediterranean scenario, which I was nerdily excited for.

Here's a description of the Warlords expansion:

Maybe this is the same thing you heard about? Either way, I am nerdily excited too.

It looks like there are also free downloads to enhance performance of the regular Civ IV on the game's homepage.
