I received these SM Pawla Pumps in the mail yesterday...


Steve Madden 'Pawla' Pump...and DH hated them, he says they're too over the top, flashy, and in his words "hoochie".  Normally I ignore his fashion opinion and when he sees the complete look, just shrugs and says "Cute", what does he know right?...but although I think they're really cute, I was kind of going for a vintage red peeptoe look, sorta like Erin's vintage pair she's ebaying, but an inch taller.


Should I keep the Pawla pair above or ebay them and get these SM Anettes instead?  The only reason I didn't get them in the 1st place is because the red looks too bright and I liked the deep red shade from the patent pair.

keep the pawlas.  i like that color red better.  chances are if your husband thinks the first pair are hoochie, he will think the second ones are too.

I really like the pawlas, and even before I read what you wrote and just looked at the picture, I thought that they looked vintagey and kind of pinup-y (not in a skanky way! in a sexy way)

Keep them! The other ones wouldn't do you justice

I actually like #2 a lot better - I want them for myself.  I'm not a fan of red patent leather though, so my vote is #2.

Yup, neither am I, but I thought I would give them a try.  What also worries me is that the patent is a BIG trend right now and big trends usually blow out as quick as they flare up, KWIM?  The 2nd pair seems more timeless.  I'm so undecided, I don't know what I'm going to do yet.

ITA w/you - and that's why I think you should get #2.  You can get more use out of them, even wear them next summer.  I don't know if I could say the same about the red patent.  Let us know what you decide!

I'm not a big fan of patent leather so I would pick #2 though I do like the color of the first ones more.

im going to have to say ebay the pawlas and buy the anettes.  im not a big fan of the platform heel. though i do agree with mandy and kitty that the color of the pawlas are much better and fun.

Thanks for your input everyone.  I'm going with the classic peep toes instead. 


I went ahead and ebayed them with a bunch of other stuff.  If anyone is interested, I created a thread under the ebay section.
