I'm working on the set of a tv show right now and it's uber-casual. Do you guys think shorts are totally inappropriate? I really want to wear my Park Vogel cashmere sweater without looking like a winter-ready dolt. I'd love to wear it with my F21 black pinstripe shorts and some Converse.


sample outfits at my office (worn by the guys...there aren't many girls here whose cue I can follow) include



  • baseball cap, loose wifebeater, baggy jeans, flip flops

  • polo shirt, cargo shorts, flip flops.

I want to do something like this with more casual shoes.

Based off of what you said your fellow co-workers wear, I think you'd be totally fine in them!  I actually think your outfit sounds WAY better than what they wear

Wear shorts! Doesn't sound inappropriate at all. The outfit you described sounds cute, I like the idea of a long sleeved tee with shorts.

i agree.  if guys can wear loose beaters then shorts should definitely be alright.  especially "nice" shorts, it's not like you're walking around in cutoff daisy dukes!

I think you can wear them.  I work in for a major retailer and I wear my bermudas all the time.  I would wear the shorter shorts, but it is too cold inside.  I'd been admiring that stylediary outfit as well.
