.......for emotional distress for the last week.

Why? Because, when the guy from the unemployment place called, he said he had already called them to confirm the reason for my lay-off. And guess what she said? SHE CHECKED THE WRONG FRICKIN BOX. She checked the "Laid off due to misconduct" box instead of the "Laid off due to lack of work" box.

I might just fly to Indy and kill someone for making me freak out for a week.

And my dad says he honestly believes that it wasn't a mistake, but that they realized there would be no easy way for them to win this.....

Your dad is probably right. They were probably hoping you would just go away quietly. Since you didn't, they had to back-track a little.
