Does anyone use MAC eyeshadow?  I'm looking for an eyeshadow that's very "color intensive,"  that goes on solid and doesn't look sheer or translucent.  Here's a pic of the type of MAC shadow I was thinking of getting (not in this green, it's the only pic I could find). TIA!

I love MAC eyeshadows. I have found that the ones that are listed as satin or matte are more intensive even after they are blended in. The ones that are veluxe pearl, lustre or front loose some of their intensity after you put them on and are better if you are looking for more of a sheer color. You can scroll over the colors on the eyeshadow page of the website and it will tell you what catagory they fall into. The MAC paints are also wonderful for bold color. You can mix a paint and an eyeshadow in order for the color to show up better and it will stay put for hours. I highly recommend the paints. HTH!

I'm not really a fan of MAC eyeshadows. I've gotten sucked into the whole "more pigment" sales pitch before and frankly, they sucked with staying power and intensity, at least in my experience.

I've found the best ways to get an intense color on your lids is to use a solid eyeshadow base and a wet eyeshadow. I bought the liquid transformer from Paula Dorf (I forget the exact name - I'll try and look it up) and if I want really bright colors or if I want to turn a shadow into a liquid liner, you just put a few drops in your hand and mix with your shadow and voila! you have a liquid shadow. I used to use it a lot a few summers ago when bright colors were really big.

Here it is:

This magic solution instantly turns eye shadow into liquid liner. Just place a few drops into eye shadow cover, dab brush into liquid, glide along outer edge of shadow, and then apply to eyelid.

the only brand that i have found is really true to the pigment you see in the container is TiGi eye shadows.

i think Ulta or Beauty First carries the TiGi makeup...

I'm a fan of Nars eyeshadow more than MAC when I need staying power. I find that the dark colors from Nars, such as the blacks, blues, and greens stay on the longest. Make sure you add a base before the shadow so it 'sticks'. Also, cream eyeshadows work really well for long periods of time and deep color because they don't wipe off as easily.

Thanks for all your input! I hadn't heard much about Nars before, I'll have to check out both Nars and Mac when I go shopping this weekend.
