Need help with weird length hair
Permalink Closed

My hair is that "perfect" length where it is too short to pull it back in a ponytail, but too long to keep down bc it is so freakin hot.   I have been pulling it back into pigtails, but I feel like I look so juvenille.  I have a super round face, if that makes a difference in what would be acceptable.

TIA

Can you put it in two french twists? I've seen that look and it's really cute. Just part your hair like you would for pigtails, twist it up and put a clip in each one. You can put it in the back if you don't want it to seem too "pigtail-y."

When my hair is that length, and it's really hot out, I like to put in 2 french braids on either side. They stay put, keep you cool and you look good without being overly cutesy.

I also love HB's idea of the 2 french twists!

I have the same problem! I haven't found a lot that I can do besides bear with it, although I have a few thick headbands that I pull my hair back with. It doesn't make a huge difference, but if I'm outside or something, it keeps nasty sweatiness away from my face

when my hair is this length, i take random sections (about 2" wide), twist and pin them up. sometimes i leave the ends sticking out, and sometimes i try to make it all "sleek."

Thanks for your suggestions ladies.

Halleybird, I tried the two french twists yesterday and my hair wasn't having it.  It just kept slipping out and many of the strands in the front were too short for it, but I think that it looks really cute (before it all fell out).

Christine, I unfortunately can't french braid myself and I don't have anyone around to do it for me.  I wish I had my mum here to do it for me.

ttara, headbands are nice and easy, but like you said, when you are outside, doesn't do much except keep the hair off of your face (I personally hate the hair on my neck).

Erin, I think that your idea is fun and I will have to try it on a day when I have some time.

Oh I wish that I had some hair-doing skills.  Thank you again for all your suggestions and I would gladly welcome more.

If this is your only problem with the french twists, you should try doing it on day-old hair. Slightly dirty hair is supposed to be able to hold this kind of thing better, and in my limited experience I think that it does.
