So my bf is being courted by a rival company for a new position with their company. Its very exciting and would be a big step in bf's career but it could mean moving to another city 3 hours away. I think its cool though...I'm pretty excited.


The city isn't super great, its a bit smaller and little more redneck than where we live now; but the housing market isn't out-of-control like ours is and we have some really great friends that live there. It would be a new start for us, we would have more freedom from both of our families (our families are both highly involved in our personal lives), freedom from some bad friends (there is a nasty gossip-scene amongst a certain group of our friends that I would love to get away from) and I think it would bring us closer as a couple. It would give me the chance to quit my job without hurting my boss's (who is my good friend) feelings. It wouldn't be all sunshine-and-roses but it would be an adventure. And I think we have reached a point in our lives and our relationship where we are ready for it.

IIRC, you live in Calgary right? So would it be Edmonton that you are talking about? Just because I go to school at the U of A; and that's the only city 3 hours away from Calgary that I can think of. I love Edmonton; I'm sure you will too!!

PS I can't believe you think it's REDNECK!! Everyone I know there is so, "city" and "artsy"
