So who's good at coming up with dumb sayings?

I need some cheese from you girls !  I need to come up with 4 little thank-you sayings to put in fortune cookies (wedding favors).  I ripped one out of a magazine that says "Your presence was a sweet gift" (Get it?  Sweet gift, fortune cookie?  I warned you about the cheese!), but I need 4 more along those same lines ...ugh!


I've tried my darndest and it's just not google-able, and FH and I sat staring at each other for over an hour last night trying to think of something, anything that would work ....


I need some help!  Maybe even just something to get me unstuck ....

Yup, that's the kind of stuff I'm looking for!  Love quotes are overly mushy, 'thanks for coming' seems lame, so cheesy-on-purpose is much more entertaining, right?


What do you think of these?

Hmmm, trying to think of one that uses 'treat' ..... but it keeps ending up sounding inappropriate !

Too repetitive?  I guess each person will only be getting one (or so) anyway, right?  Do any of them rub you the wrong way, if you got one as a guest?

I think they're all really tasteful


the only thing I would change is to put them in present tense (unless they are getting these as they walk out the door?) but I can understand the urge to go past tense, since a thank you is typically given after something.


I played with present tense here:


-  Your presence is a delightful treat!


-  We are so fortunate to have you celebrate with us! (or something)


-  Your company makes our day all the sweeter!


-  Your presence is a sweet gift!


-  Having you as our guest is a treat!


some I like better than others in present tense - just food for thought (pun intended!)

Ok, this is my favorite thread of the day! I'm so unimaginative but you girls are cracking me up. Puns are my favorite. I would crack up if I got those in a fortune cookie! Great idea, Elle.

I'm glad you like it, Laken!  I'm trying not to take myself too seriously with anything wedding related, because there's nothing I hate worse than sappy wedding crap !


I'm glad you brought up the tense issue Detroit - I agree that it's probably better to do them in present tense, because that would make sense no matter when they grab them whereas the past tense might seem a tad off if they happen to grab theirs early.  Then I can just set them out from the and not worry about the logistics of bringing them in mid-reception.


Now all I need is a punny (hehe!) sign for the favor table to set by the bowl of cookies for a little 'preview' !

For the table sign I love the poem and for the cookies these are my choices:


"thank you for joining us in our good fortune"


"having you as a guest is a delightful treat"

I really like the fortune cookie idea. Everyone loves fortune cookies and the cheesy sayings are so funny.
