I am thinking about buying this Nicole Miller silk dress from e-bay.  It is brand new and the color is great for me especially in summer when I get a bit of a tan.  I already have quite a few party dresses and am now searching for opportunities to wear them but my son's grad is at the end of June and I have a formal dinner coming up in early fall.  So what do you think?  Thumbs up or down?  I have to decide in a day as the auction ends soon.

I'm going to vote no for one reason, it's silk. Silk is soooo hot in the summer it wil just make you sweat and then it sticks to you.

ditto. plus silk can be so unflattering and it doesn't look like the best cut. If it was cotton, I'd be all over it.

I would like it a lot better if it was a richer color..I kind of feel like light pink is blah.

i like the color and style but I hate that silk material.  If you get a spot on it you might as well throw the darn thing away because no cleaner will be able to get it out.  Plus it will look really worn and old after a few trips to the cleaners.

Okay that's true. I didn't think about that. I'll have to change my vote to no :(

I think that this is a good point to consider.  There are so many pretty dresses out there that are won't be so hot.

I like it and think it would work well for a formal dinner. I mean it isn't an outside formal dinner is it? It really depends on how much you like it/the price as to whether I would say get it or not. I don't spend a lot of money on things I won't wear often unless I absolutely love it.
