I bought all these at Loehmann's and I don't know how I feel about keeping them after trying them on. Please let me know what you think.
1. Mon Petit Oiseau shift dress. I got if for $60.
I love trapeze/shift dresses, but do I look like I'm trying to hide something? Also, does my chest look ok? I'm a borderline D/DD now so I'm always paranoid about how things fit up there.
2. Ben Sherman henley. $20.
Does it matter if the stripes on the chest don't quite match the ones at the armholes?
3. Soundgirl buttondown. $17.
I like, but am concerned about how big it is around the waist. Is it worth taking to the tailor?
Slightly OT, but is this outfit ridiculous? I want to get a big black belt with a cool buckle for this if the outfit is worth it.
#1 I initially really really like it but it also concerns me with the way the arm holes are cut. They seem to make it look like you might be coming out from the side. Perhaps it's just the pic. I do love the shape and print though.
#2 is cool, it reminds me of a Where's Waldo or Steve from Blues Clues type of shirt but...if the off stripes are gonna bug you then return. I honestly didn't notice until you pointed it out.
#3 like I said earlier, I really like. I can see you doing tons of cute things with it. As for the outfit you are trying out, I think you would be the only person that can pull it off. You're cool that way. Something about it does look a little off to me but maybe it's because I'm not seeing it with the belt.
I think #1 could work..but I don't like it all by itself. It could be super cute with a layered look (leggings, long-sleeve shirt underneath, fitted cardigan, etc.)
Definitely keep #3. Number #2 is iffy, not because of the stripes, but because it seems too plain for your style. I think you could rock #1 with a fitted cardi and some accessories.
Number 3 is a keeper. The dress reminds me of a little girl's dress and looks like its cut for a little girl. Not enough room for the curves of a woman. I like the henley for a casual look and would probably keep that one too.
As for the outfit in #3, I am rarely drawn too any outfit with more than two colors with neutrals thrown in so to my eye, it just has too much happening.
I'm only keeping #3. Also, that outfit I tried is growing on me. Lately I've been drawn to really busy prints and I'm getting bored with outfits that contain solid colors and basic shapes. I know it's not for everyone but I'm happy with it. Now to find that big black belt...
I'm returning #1 and #2 on Tuesday. Thanks for saving me over 80 bucks! For once the cutest thing is actually the cheapest!!!
