I hve this long visible scar on my right side neck. Often people would stare or mistaken it for a long line hickey. What would u do to conceal it? Or should I just live with it and be proud? I've tried to cover with foundation and it doesn't work well.


By the way, the scar is there because of a surgery I had to remove a tumor that grew on a nerve inside my right neck area. Ugh.

they make scar gel, the brand name is Mederma. You have to apply it like 4 times a day for six months or something completely annoying like that, but it's supposed to reduce the appearance. I'm using it now, but I haven't used it for very long so I can't vouch for how good or bad it is

My dermetologist gave me a steroid tape to use on my scars.  It worked  but not very well because mine are raised scars.  I did lighten them.  I think if you used it on a flat scar it would work much better.  You can see a dermetologist/doctor to see what they can prescribe.  Mederma works but really only for new scars.  I think you would need something stronger for yours.

This is kinda more drastic..but you can also have cosmetic surgery to reduce the appearance.

How long ago was your surgery? Scars should eventually heal to the point of being a fine white line.

I had it about 5 years ago.  Do you think Curad scar therapy would help? I have seen them in magazines and in the drug stores.


As for the steroid tapes, how long do u have to apply them?

They don't help. I have a large scar and they did NOTHING.
