Halleybird, all the other girls suggestions are wonderful! If I may suggest on which Pumas to where, I would recommend the 1st pair the Anjans. I have a couple pairs of the H street, and they are good for walking for a couple of hours. I went to Disneyland two years ago, and wore my H street for the entire day, by the end of the day I could hardly walk. My feet were so sore, since the H street has no cushioning or support. Have a wonderful trip and take lots of pictures to show us!

HB- just be glad you are allowed to take the roll-bag!  i traveled europe when i lived there with one of those ginormous backpacks.  believe me- people are always surprised at how light i travel now- and i say it is all b/c of traveling europe w/all of my stuff on my back.  i really learned what i truely needed and what i didn't!

that being said- i think you are on the right track.  only one tip to add: i found that rolling my clothes allows for a LOT more room in my bag.  so definitely go that route.  and i think you would be fine with your shoe choices as well.

as for pickpockets- i encountered them mostly in spain & italy.  gah!  i still get the creeps thinking about it!  some gyspy tried to pickpocket me in spain and i never got over it.  i kinda don't like spain for it!  i definitely recommend carrying a messenger type bag with a zipper pull and keeping the flap closest to you.  PLEASE make sure your guard is up if using an ATM machine alone- that is where most scams happen.  take someone with you... also- someone else suggested the case that you can put under your shirt w/your passport, id, ccs, etc.  i used that when traveling overnight trains by myself and felt much safer when wearing it.

that being said- have a fabulous trip!  we are going for about 17-18 days (haven't booked flights yet) in September- so I'll be thinking of everyone's suggestions then for myself!

yes, yes, yes. The ATMs. When we were in Prague recently, we went to an ATM off the main square in the city.  We waited in line for the ATM, and in line behind me was someone that didn't seem right.  I alerted my husband to him, so when we got up to the ATM, we created a barrier between the two of us so he couldn't jump in.  When we had our "barrier" going, an older gypsy man started pushing his body into me trying to create a ruckus/distraction, so the guy in line could come up and take the money. He was pushing and pushing and I ended up yelling "STOP PUSHING ME!!!" I continued to hold my ground, the money was coming out of the ATM, and I continued to hold him off (I work out quite a bit and I'm very strong - especially my legs.)  Anyway, after my husband got the money into his travel wallet (see below), and we started to walk away - the older gypsy guy was PISSED.  He started pushing me and wanted to fight me - like a fist fight - right there on the street.  I couldn't freaking believe it! He never touched my husband but he pushed me with his hands like four times yelling at me in czech and wanted to fight while several of his gypsy friends came out of the shadows and gathered around.  I said absolutely nothing - held my hands up and backed up - my husband held his hands up too and said "no problem" several times.  If things had gone the way they planned we would have had a scuffle and had been robbed.  They were depending on my husband to get all macho and defend me/fight them.  The thing is that there were a fair amount of people on the street too.  They ended up backing off and we walked.  We went to a spot where we could check to make sure everything was intact (money, etc. - fortunately we were not carrying any backpack of purse) My heart was freaking racing - I couldn't believe what happened and I was scared they were following us.  Very, very scary incident.  Not to freak you out or anything, but you can never be too safe or too aware.

Onto my husband's wallet...

LL Bean has great travel accessories.  My husband has a wallet from there that attaches to his belt and flips into the front of his pants from there - I have witnessed it thwarting pickpockets in market areas as they cannot locate the wallet (I walk behind my husband in crowded areas to protect the backpack and can see when pickpockets come up to him.)  Anyway - they have versions for women too: http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?page=document-holders&categoryId=4531&storeId=1&catalogId=1&langId=-1&feat=dp50

Sorry for the length of this post, and you will most likely not have a problem, but it is a reality, and you're better off being aware of it!
