build a bear workshop

Anyone know roughly the cost of "building" a bear there?  I know they have tons of different animals, outfits, etc.  Do you think we could get out of there for $25 a bear?

I'm taking my kids there tomorrow for my youngest's birthday.  Every time I go by there on the weekend it's a madhouse.  I'm scared.  Say a prayer for me!

my sister works at build-a-bear! I *think* she said the cheapest bear is $20, but don't quote me on that.

I think you can make one for about $25, but you won't be able to give him clothes or anything (I think that the clothes just make them ugly, anyway)

hmm I think its a little closer to $30 once you put on the clothes but you may be able to keep it closer to $25.  Are you not doing a b-day party there?  I think they are included when you book a party.  Back home we have their competitors - Wacky Bear (the name doesn't begin to describe the company...) and they do parties but not sure how much per head.

i've made bears there with kids twice.  once it was $60 and the other time $45.  both times we "dressed" the bear.

if you can occupy the kid with "bathing" the bear and "naming" the bear and steer them clear of the clothing and accessories section- you can get out for under $30!

Thanks for the info!  I'm not doing a "party", just taking my girls in.  My in-laws got them the whole outfit, plus "limited edition" bears, so I might hear some stink if we don't get the outfits, but I'm not spending $60 each.  Especially if my husband is going.  No way in hell he would.  My oldest daughter took the clothes off hers the day she brought it home and hasn't put the outfit on since.  Funny thing... she got a purple pegasus instead of a traditional bear.  She dressed it in a black faux leather mini, white tee w/ sequins, pink boots and pink PANTIES!  It was hilarious.  My sister and I called it "Prostitute Pegasus".  That's what she chose, though.

They don't have the coupon in the happy meals here but the little bears are so cute. I want to get all the little bunny ones and the black and tan bears. They are so cute
