One of my very good friends dad passed away last June. And one of his wishes were for his two youngest daughters (my friend and her little sister) to have a debut or sort of like a Sweet Sixteen. My friend is 16 but she will turn 17 in June, which is actually the day after her father passed, on her sister will be turning 16.


So the debut is June 3rd and I was asked to stand in it but I wasnt able to. But of course I am still going. And of course I have no idea what to wear!!


Could ya'll please post some dresses or outfits I could possibly wear for this day? Any color is fine and the price limit is at least less then $40.

Hmm, $40 is tight, so I think your best bet might be Gap or F21.

Just a few questions. What exactly is a debut?  How formal/casual will it be?  Is there a skirt/slacks/shoes that you already have, that we can work with?

A debut is sort of like a quinceñera or a sweet sixteen. You usually have a little mass then you go to the reception where they have food and a dance. I know for a fact that it will not be really casual but not formal like with long prom dresses. So in between.

I would hit the Dillards sale racks.  They usually have a lot of dresses for great prices.
