Hair Question
Permalink Closed

I have light brown hair, could be considered dark blonde, but it's on the brown side. It's affected by the sun enough that I can see a difference at the end of the summer. It lightens a little on certain areas. If I wanted to "help" along the slight lightening, just how effective is lemon? I have lemon juice and I've heard that if you apply it and sit in the sun, you'll see a difference. I don't want to destroy my hair...I'm just curious as to how much it will change it, if at all. Thanks

i don't think it's the lemon juice so much that "destroys" your hair as much as it is the sun really fries it.

Oh no! Please don't do this!

Go to a colorist and get it professionally done.
It took me years to get healthy hair again after I used Sun-in and lemon juice as a teenager.

Bad bad bad!

I agree that the sun is what damages your hair...that's why they make sunscreen for hair.

If you get subtle highlights and you only get them done around your face or on top..it won't damage very much at all.
