Are these skinny/straight legs cute?
Permalink Closed

Due to my muscular calves, true skinny/peg legs are out of the question. I do like the look and think it's (sort of) fresh, though.

Do these look cute? They're the TR Johnny straight legs and so far I *think* I like the way they scrunch and all but they'd look cute over heels too. Right?

I have bigger thighs myself (unfortunately mine aren't muscular) and this is a look that I think us girls cannot pull off.  I really think we need a boot cut to help balance out our thighs.

I hate that I have to pass on this trend because I really like it too.  Unfortunately, I think that your normal jeans are so much more flattering on you.  Sorry.  It makes me sad too because I really want them to work.

soory, I think they make you look a lot bigger than you really are. I mean, you look cute but more of that "wow she's kind of fat but still dresses nicely" kind of cute. You have such a great figure- I just don't think these show it off the right way.

Well, I think they look fine on you, however I don't think you're achieving the look you're going for at all.  I'm in the proportionally big thighs group and love the skinny jeans look too, but also cannot achieve the look.  Sorry, Lilykind, but I guess you're looking for honest answers.

I think wearing the jeans with heels would make a huge difference.  I also have the muscular calves problem and for me skinny jeans are a big no but you are younger and hipper than me.

Hey girly, I think the jeans look okay, but don't really achieve the "skinny" look because they are straight leg and not more tapered (ugh, hate that word). As HeatherLynn mentioned, I do not think our bodies are cut out for this trend... I know exactly what she means about the "balancing" and I although I think skinny jeans are hot & I am so tempted to try them, I think they only work on LaLohan types. Sorry girl, I know you want them to work, but they'll be out soon enough!

I have the same problem. I'm definitely curvy, and it is really hard to participate in the skinny jean craze. I have a black pair of skinny jeans from Express and I think they're the only ones I can get away with wearing (I've seriously tried on a MILLION pairs). Even then, they aren't exactly flattering...but whatever.

Here's a photo:

I don't like the way they look with sneakers, but they might look cute with heels, like in Kitty's picture. But I would have to see a pic first.

IMO, with sneakers it just looks like you bought the wrong size jean. With heels they would look more modern/fashiony.

I agree with zeitgeist 4. Maybe you could take a picture for us to see wearing them with heels. That is a very bad trend IMO. I always have to have a little flare in my pants just to feel proportioned correctly.

I'm WAY to curvy (and also have muscular calves) to wear skinny jeans...

However, I found these great straight leg jeans (below)  at Express that you may like! I bought them in January but I think they still have them! I like them becasue they aren't too tight in the ass or the leg but still have the "straight" look.

I'm even wearing them with flats here:

I think this trend is cute, too, but for the most part, it only works on mannequins or hangers (or people who are built like them). I am not one of those people, so I passed on this trend. I agree with what the other girls said, skip them. There are much more flattering styles out there for you.

I agree with Nyla!
